BASS Elite & Open series culling penalty

If you recall a lengthy debate about Culling penalty motion by MDBA.

The thread I’m referring to-

Today I was reading Bassmaster article that Skeet Reese got disqualified on day 3 (yesterday) at Lake Wheeler because he had extra fish (total 6) in his livewell so he got zeroed for day 3 meaning ALL other 5 had to be tossed back! That rule is under Elite series.

If my memory serve me correct a few years ago Tommy Biffle fished BASS Open event (not Elite) he had 6 bass in his livewell and he reported the violation and had to return to the launch site and the director of the tournament released his ONE biggest bass then he went back fishing. Their rule is if an angler make a cast AFTER the 6th bass in the livewell have to report the violation.

My opinion is I like the Open series policy that one biggest fish has to be released compare to all the hard work you earn 5 fish and all have to thrown back. Yike.

Add old comments to the Poll

Thursday awards
2 lbs penalty per short fish
Change from 5 to 3 bass per person
Number stickers off outboard
Dont allow hired guide at anytime
Affilation club to pay 65 or 95 or 150
2 oz to 8 oz penalty per bass
Increase entry fee

I know most of us have already talked about these topics. All these have been covered so why not add these prior comments to the poll that was already discussed instead of staring over to 0 comment and now I have to repeat? Yes I like the Poll idea but please add the comments that was debated instead of “0″ so nobody have to repeat it like myself. It tiresome.

Changing bag limit is a BAD idea, IMO.

I’m not able to post my thoughts on front page for some reason. Instead, I’ll create a new post so here goes… If change the limit from 10 to 5 fish per team then you are hurting the NBAD traditional and not to mention the team records will never be broken if that changed to 5 per team. Please leave it the way they are. For instance, few years ago team anglers from Texas broke old team record with 50 lbs at Wheeler Lake, AL and then 2 years ago the record was defeated by a team with 90 lbs in Clear Lake, CA…that’s what make it so interesting. Lake Barkley and other future site is capable to break the 90 lbs team record but with the 5 bass per boat is IMPOSSIBLE. Though, my feeling on this is a bad idea. I strongly suggest you to reconsider to keep the traditional 10 keepers per boat. For the life of me I don’t understand why want to mess with the NBAD traditional??? Thanks for your time.
